Mary Jones is a good book to help young Christians learn the value of the Bible. Today the Bible is not hard to get, but in those days it was. Mary Jones worked and saved all her money for six years to buy a Bible, yet we take the Bible for granted!

I read Mary Jones and her Bible when the book was given to me at Sunday School. I am now 59, so it was a long time ago, but the story has remained with me all my life. It is a story of determination, courage and stamina, but most of all it is a story of how a young Welsh girl loved God and wanted to know everything about him and His love for us.

I read 'Mary Jones and her Bible' when I was in 5th grade. Now I am 58 years old. It is the one book that still brings tears to my eyes especially when I think of the efforts and struggles Mary went to in order to read the Word of God. My first month's salary went to buy a Thomson Chain Bible in 1967!
