Whether a parent with a child or an evangelist with an enquirer, it has become the accepted practice of most 21st evangelicals to 'lead people to Christ' ultimately through what is called a 'sinner's prayer'. However, Jesus stated that unless sinners repent they will perish (Luke 13:5). David Cloud's contention in this book is that 'repentance' is much more than a simple 'sinner's prayer'. In the process he defines repentance and gives a thorough examination of the weaknesses and failings of modern evangelism especially among 'fundamentalists' in the USA. An excellent book.
