This commentary on the entire Old Testament represents Merrill Unger at his very best. Just as he did in the classroom for over twenty years, Dr. Unger pours his heart and soul into teaching the Word. As one student said, Dr. Unger had a way of "being absorbed in the verses but then lifting the students into the heavens as to what the Lord was telling us in the words of the text."

Dr. Unger was a master of the Hebrew text, so his grammar and linguistic notes are outstanding. His outlines and introductions help to clarify the meaning of God's Word. About the Author: Merrill Unger received his BA from John Hopkins University, a Th.M. and Th.D. from Dallas Theological Seminary, and then returned to John Hopkins to earn his Ph.D. in Hebrew and Semitic languages. He served as professor of Semitics and Old Testament at Dallas Theological Seminary from 1948 to 1967.
